1. Visual Form

This abstract fabric artwork is designed as a grid diptych. Both panels share eight identical core color palettes, yet their color blocks are arranged in offset, reversed layouts. Uniform square grids form the outline of window mullions, while red and green rivets demarcate two opposing visual perspectives. Natural handmade textures are fully preserved, including fabric creases and paint water stains. The stark contrast in arrangement of identical hues generates a distinctive visual tension.

2. Core Concept

The window carries three layers of metaphor. It acts as a physical partition between humanity and nature, a separating veil dividing the mundane and the divine, and a cognitive barrier standing between subjective perception and objective reality. The mirrored, reversed color blocks symbolize humanity’s inherent cognitive dissonance—we all share the same fundamental senses, yet our understandings of the world remain perpetually misaligned.
